Sailors of the U.S. nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS George Washington stand on a flight deck upon their departure for a joint naval and air exercise with South Korea at a South Korean naval port in Busan, about 420 km (262 miles) southeast of Seoul, July 25, 2010. The aircraft carrier is participating in the massive combined air and naval exercise held by South Korea and the U.S. in the East Sea from July 25 to 28 to demonstrate deterrence plans against North Korea, according to the defence ministries of the two countries.
